Why Choose Ancient Grains
Amaranth & Barnyard Millet are ancient grains staples known for their rich mineral content and high plant protein content. Together they offer a wholesome alternative to refined wheat flour – ideal for those seeking better digestion, balanced energy and clean natural nutrition.
How to use
- Amaranth is one of nature’s most powerful ancient grains – rich in protein, fibre and minerals – but for some it can be a little tough on the tummy at first . Every gut is unique. If your digestive enzymes are low or your gut flora is off balance, Amaranth may take a bit longer to break down. Amaranth is a gut – loving pseudo grain – once your body gets used to it.
- Replace wheat flour 1:1 in most recipes- breads, pancakes, muffins or sauces. Because of the higher fibre content, you may need to add a little more liquid for the perfect consistency
Perfect for
- Health conscious home bakers
- Balanced and natural meal planning

This blend of amaranth and millet has truly lived up to its name in my kitchen. In my experience, it’s the closest thing to wholewheat flour you’ll find without being wheat at all.
Why I love it: It brings structure and softness to gluten-free bakes, from cakes to tarts to breads. Rich, nutty and wholesome, without the typical “gluten-free” aftertaste. Ancient grains, naturally full of protein, fibre and minerals. From my “witsponskoek” to “pampoentert”, this flour has been a complete game-changer.

This is a real game changer when it comes to gluten-free baking. Best results I have ever achieved, no one could actually tell that the cake and cupcakes were gluten-free and vegan.

Package was leaking flour, most suppliers would offer to replace, but you did not.
